Enrollment for New Students

BEGINNING FEBRUARY 1, 2019, all new students to DJUSD begin with Pre-Enrollment (Step 1 below).  Prior to that date, new students will only be enrolled using steps 2-4 below.

  1. Complete Pre-Enrollment and print form (this does not guarantee enrollment)
  2. Gather DJUSD Required Registration Documents and Report to neighborhood or choice school with appropriate documentation to be officially enrolled
  3. Review Additional Information (Immunization requirements, Health Services, etc.)
  4. Complete Online Re-Enrollment once pin/password is assigned (this will recur annually before school begins in each Fall)

Which school will my student attend?
Students must attend their neighborhood boundary school based on their physical Davis address. Visit our School Locator to find your neighborhood boundary school.

NOTE: Changes to school of attendance for some students in Montgomery Elementary boundary
Marguerite Montgomery Elementary (MME) is undergoing program transition. The school continues to expand its Two-Way Bilingual Spanish Immersion program and phase out its English-only classrooms over the course of five school years. For the 2019-20 school year, the English-only program will continue for grades third through sixth. If you live in the MME boundary area, have a student in kindergarten, first or second grade, and are seeking an English-only program, you should enroll your student at Pioneer Elementary.

Can my student attend a different school?

Each year families can submit an application to attend a school that is not their neighborhood boundary school. This is referred to as an Intradistrict Transfer. We also have a selection of Choice Schools  that enroll students though a lottery process or an application.

Moving to Davis?
DJUSD continues to experience high enrollment. As a result, many families who come to DJUSD in the middle of the school year may find that the school closest to their residence has no room for their student. We will do our best to enroll your student in a school close to your home that has space, but there are times that the school with space is not within walking distance. Davis Joint Unified does not provide school buses or other transportation for students.
