World Language Program

In an increasingly interconnected world, The Davis Joint Unified School District (DJUSD) World Language Program is dedicated to educate students to become competent and informed global citizens with proficiency in languages and critical insights into international cultures.

DJUSD believes that proficiency in a two or more languages is an important part of a 21st century skills toolkit and has significant benefits to individuals, families, communities and global society. From dual-immersion and Spanish immersion elementary and junior high programs to introductory and upper level Advanced Placement and literature courses, Davis Joint Unified World Language program offers a diverse and rich set of opportunities for student learning K-12. Our program incorporates a proficiency-based curriculum that enables students to use the world language in real contexts and contribute to a greater understanding of the human experience around the globe.

World Language programming is designed to enhance student’s education and cognitive development and contribute to respect for cultural diversity, intercultural competence, and applied language skills for our students’ personal and professional goals.
