DJUSD Campuses Closed Until End of School Year; Instruction Continues Through Distance Learning

Davis, California- During the Board of Education Meeting on Thursday, April 2, 2020, in an effort to continue to support the collective efforts of our region and state to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the health and safety of students, staff, families, and our community, Superintendent Bowes announced his decision to close all DJUSD schools for the remainder of the 2019-20 academic school year. Instruction will continue through a Distance Learning Program.

“This decision is not made lightly, and has been made in consultation with the Yolo County Office of Education, other superintendents in Yolo County, our Yolo County Public Health Officer, and our Board of Education.”

This announcement means DJUSD students and staff will not be returning to school campuses this school year. Student instruction will resume on April 13 using our Distance Learning Program. DJUSD also launched a new, dynamic Distance Learning Center webpage and our Family Guide to Distance Learning, that will provide students and families with information and resources to ensure a smooth transition to our Distance Learning instructional model.
