Important Communication Regarding TikTok Social Media Challenge
Posted on 12/16/2021
Davis Joint Unified School District staff were informed this week that videos are being posted on the social media platform, TikTok, encouraging students to threaten a school shooting in order to shut down school on Friday, Dec. 17. These videos are being shared throughout social media around the country.

We are not aware of any threats or information related to DJUSD, but we are closely monitoring social media and following media reports. The Davis Police Department is aware of the national challenge and has received no information or threats related to DJUSD.

We continue to ask parents and guardians to speak with their student/s about using social media platforms mindfully and not sharing information that may be inaccurate, damaging or violence-inciting.

Please report any suspicious behavior to law enforcement and the District. We take all threats seriously and will respond immediately to ensure the safety of all students, staff and our community.

Thank you for your continued support in keeping our schools a safe learning environment for all of our students, staff and community.
