schedule iconThe DJUSD Secondary Schedule Review Committee and DJUSD staff are engaged in the ongoing review of schedules for our Secondary schools. Senate Bill 328 mandates that all Senior High School students start school no earlier than 8:30 a.m. beginning Fall 2022. This law was passed as a result of a body of evidence about the positive impacts of sleep and later start times for students.

A staff committee continues to meet in order to inform the models that will be considered for Davis Senior High School and Da Vinci Charter Academy. District staff provided an update to the Board of Education on November 18 and, on December 16, the Board of Education will adopt a final Secondary School model.

Our Junior High Schools are already in compliance with SB 328, so their current schedules will be maintained for the 2022-23 school year. Our Junior High School community will explore the current schedules this spring and, in fall 2022, they will analyze how a schedule can promote the best teaching and learning, social-emotional learning and equity and access. Staff, students and families will have ample opportunity to provide feedback to inform any potential changes to the Junior High schedule in 2023-24.
